Sketchbook

My sketchbooks aren't special. These are old notebooks of my child from which the written pages have been torn out and they are also lined notebooks. However, this should not spoil the fun. We are used to reusing everything. It does not have to be new to create something and over the years, we have become more and more creative.

I saw a video on YouTube where the sketchbook was discussed. Not a sketchbook as it is meant to be with sketches big, small, an eye, foot, nail, hair or animal but those books that are all "pieces of art" in themselves and have nothing to do with preliminary studies because that is what sketches are, preliminary studies, not the works of art themselves. It seems that the internet is full of the most wonderful works of art that all bear the name sketchbook and are also published and then I wonder: How do you do that? Do you tear the pages out of the book to photograph them (or have them photographed)? Is this still a sketchbook or an idea book? I had actually had enough of it and the 146 dollar course, which I wanted to do with my daughter because I definitely won't enjoy it for the rest of my life, is not going to happen,
I ended up with ugly art. Art can be ugly, especially if this is the way to know what you don't like and who knows what your favorite color is?
Ugly art has a positive effect, they say, and this is how I start the day, with the old notebook of the youngest on my lap I try out the large amounts of coloured pencils, markers and watercolor boxes. After more than 10 years I clean the paint boxes, I sit for hours sharpening coloured pencils and crayons, scratching and when the washing machine spins I hold it in place with my butt and while I calmly scratch on a piece of paper or clean the brushes on it.

P.s. What low-budget junk is being sold as far as pencils, colour pencils, markers and crayons are concerned and that notebook? It looks extremely poor. Only the cover is colourful, but that is the result of the acrylic paint that my child used on it. I try not to think about how much it all did cost. By the way, I also found a roll of Scott magic tape from 2018 for over 3 euros! What a rip-off for a roll of tape.
