Greetings amazing Steemians of the Teachers and Students community. It makes me happy to write in this community again. Below is my participation on a contest by @nsijoro on a topic "Life after school".

How will your life after school be or has been?

Well, to begin with, I am a Nigerian-based secondary school student in SS2 class implying that by August 2026, I'll be a secondary school graduate and will look forward to engaging in higher prospects of my existence.

I feel like my life after school will be tough initially but will gradually smoothen because I plan to take my social media more seriously after my secondary school. I want to monetize my YouTube and Tiktok accounts before becoming an adult. To monetize heavily and adequately, I'll be required to have at least a hundred thousand followers on Tiktok. I'm still at a thousand followers. To effect the change I desire, my energy and time will be needed. Disappointments will surface but I must push regardless. This forms the difficult phase I initially spoke about.

When I finally monetize, my life will be as smooth as I have predicted in the earlier paragraph since the amount contained in one cash out from the app can improve my life for the better.

I think education is a scam. Education in this era, particularly the formal kind, does not ensure job opportunity or put food on people's tables anymore. First class graduates grit their teeth to secure jobs that pay one-tenth or smaller of what a citizen with no experience in the four walls of the university earn depending the situation.

These days, people make hundreds of millions off social media and other genuine sources without having to submit their Curriculum Vitae in exchange whereas those who went to school, investing their nights' sleep, time and sweat earn peanuts. This generation is upsidedown. I will however make the most out of the situation I have been born into.

What do you think one should do after obtaining a degree without a job? Business, learn a soft skill. Share with us those businesses and skills?

Joblessness is a very common thing these days. I feel like if someone has earned a good degree and can't find a befitting job, he or she should earn a living from a skill since capital mayn't be available for the opening of one's own business. These options include; fashion designing, makeup artistry, photography, shoe making, skit making, catering and bakery, painting, etc. Skills pay relatively more these days.

Will you blame the government for not getting employed as a graduate?

Yes, I definitely will. I'm not a Government student but according to the little I have read, it is one of the responsibilities of the government to create job opportunities for her people. The inability of a graduate to not find a job is not his or her fault. It's the government's.

Do you think Steemit can reduce the number of unemployed graduates in your country? Explain

I think so. Writing on Steemit can be considered a job. It pays well and is like 'a garbage in-garbage out system'. Unseriosness leads to low pay while seriousness leads to bulky pay. It even ensures workers are paid according to how they deserve.

As a student, if you had an opportunity to invest, what area do you think you should invest in?

I would love to invest in makeup artistry as a student. I'm good at it. Owning a business site, physical or electronical will boost me a whole lot. If I have the money, I'll invest by buying the complete set of products and await returns by putting in the work.

I appreciate you for reading my post. I invite @onomzy001, @okokon and @khayjhay to participate.
